Preschoolers through 6th grade are involved in Sunday morning classes, as well as social events and service projects throughout the school year (see the Education page).
The middle and high schoolers meet Sunday mornings during the school year, starting again on September 11th! All 7th-12th graders are welcome! Join us as we creatively discover how we can follow Jesus. Bring your friends! We meet at 9:40am!
Confirmation!
Confirmation for seventh and eighth graders meets weekly for dessert and class. It is a two year commitment to walk with students in their faith so they are ready to proclaim it on Confirmation Sunday! Call the church for day and time.
We have a variety of monthly events that can include:
Service Projects
We want to reach out to our neighbors and share the love of God, so we have a variety of service projects throughout the year to do that, helping those in need. Some we have done in the past are Project Start Right, North Clackamas School District Summer Lunch Program, Backpack Buddies, Bridges to Housing Sharing Days, a Canned Food Scavenger Hunt competition where we donate the food we collect to our local food shelf, and many more!
Retreats
This is a chance for students to hang out for an extended period of time and really get to know each other, trust one another, and dig deeper into their faith while getting away and having a great time!
Mission Trips
Students have a chance to really dive into helping out people in need and living out what they believe in. They will face challenges outside of their comfort zones and meet our Glorious God in many ways! These trips also bring the students closer together as they have this life changing experience with one another, lighting a fire for God deep in each of their hearts! This past summer we travelled to the Oregon Coast to work on a Habitat for Humanity project.
Camp
The 7th and 8th graders have the chance to attend confirmation camp at Camp Lutherwood! The middle schoolers have a blast spending a week together learning about God, playing amazing games, going on a ropes course, and just hanging out!
Concerts
We went to a Newsboys performance and are now officially hooked on concerts! Surrounded by thousands of other believers, enjoying super loud, heart pumping, ear bursting music made for the Lord together - sounds like a little slice of heaven eh?!
Overnighters
Church can become totally different at night when occupied by hyped up youth! We try to plan a few of these throughout the year so they have the chance to get to know each other and have fun together! These usually include lots of food, fun, movies, games, and running around in the dark and not a whole lot of sleep!
Etc.
Some of our "events" are just fun activities to hang out with each other! These can include BBQs, bowling, game nights, water parks, comedy night, rafting, movies, camping, paintball, Sunday School on Mt. Hood, water gun fights, haunted corn mazes, etc. etc. The list goes on and on! We also like to connect with other local churches for some of these activities!
If you have any questions about any of these activities, the youth ministry in general, are interested in receiving the monthly youth newsletter, want specifics on what's happening this particular year or pretty much anything else don't hesitate to contact the church office. |
