Prince of Life celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2006. Located on the hilltop of Oregon City, we are a vital community committed to “knowing the love of God in Jesus Christ and sharing that love in word and action.” We are a congregation of the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
POL has developed a reputation on the grapevine for reaching out to Oregon City and the greater community in practical ways with the love of Jesus. We are involved with Love INC, a network of Clackamas County churches serving neighbors in need. |
| POL facilitates the “Start Right” project, which in 2009 gave out over 1,500 backpacks loaded with school supplies to local children in need. We also helped start a local Backpack Buddies program, making sure that children at risk for hunger in a local elementary school don’t go hungry over the weekend.
The congregation hosts a number of community groups, including Clackamas County parenting classes and Drug Court graduations.
Our Sunday School children support teen moms at Christmas, and make sure troops overseas get care packages.
Our middle schoolers and senior highers participate in service projects throughout the year to help those in need which include Canned Food Scavenger Hunts, a 30hr. Famine, Project Start Right, North Clackamas School District Summer Lunch Program as well as going on a mission trip during the summer.
Women’s circles are involved in making quilts for burn victims and residents of nursing homes. Many of our men help build bunk beds for foster children.
All of God’s people have a mission to serve in their daily lives, and we are committed to equipping our people to live out that calling.
We’re passionate about putting the love of Christ into action. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your journey of faith, come join us in that mission! |
